Thanks to the Article 1 association (born in 2017 from the merger of two major associations fighting against inequality of opportunity: "Passeport Avenir" and "Frateli"), its active members (Accenture, Airbus, Air France, Alcatel-Lucent, Atos, Capgemini, Ericsson, Gemalto, Malakoff Médéric, Orange, Qualcomm, Sagemcom, SFR, SNCF, TF1, Verizon Foundation) and the partner consultancy Norsys, Télécom SudParis has been benefiting from a study of excellence profiles in companies since 2011.

In 2015, new active and inactive members, as well as national, regional, institutional, and associative partners, contributed to forming a significant network focused on equal opportunities, which enriched the existing core group.

Based on a 2010 survey of HR teams and managers at these companies, 12 soft competencies were identified as priorities for achieving corporate excellence. These competencies were drawn from a Canadian reference framework of 24.

As part of its "Competencies" strategy, the Engineering Program Management measures the level of acquisition of 12 PRIORITY competencies and 12 COMPLEMENTARY competencies by all its students at the end of their compulsory 1st, 2nd and 3rd year internships.
